The Tories remain intent on removing check-off in those departments which they control, with DWP, Home Office, DEFRA, DfID, and DFE, engaged in a consultation process on withdrawal.
A number of other departments are likely to begin consultation soon.
In response to this PCS are developing group action plans, targeted materials and we have improved the online switching process to make it quicker for people to sign up online, visit the direct debit pages now.
We will also deploy teams of PCS staff into priority areas, following consultation with groups.
To enable a quick response to this threat, these teams will be briefed and trained in the coming weeks with deployment taking place throughout August and September.
